Nichole Rocha

Policy Advisor

Nichole Rocha brings with her extensive knowledge of the legislative process and technology policy. Nichole also serves as the Principal at Rocha Public Affairs, and previously, as the Head of 5Rights US, Nichole helped secure the unanimous passage of the Age Appropriate Design Code in two states. Prior to that, she served as Chief Consultant to the California Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee and as Counsel to the California Senate Judiciary Committee. Nichole received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley and her Juris Doctor from UC Davis.

Nichole is a trusted expert in technology policy and has testified before numerous state legislatures, on national and international child safety panels, and has consulted with foreign governments regarding policies designed to protect children online. In 2023, Nichole was appointed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom to the Children’s Data Protection Working Group and has provided interviews as a technical expert for local and national media.

Kevin Liao

Communications Advisor

Kevin has led successful communications initiatives at the national, state, and local levels for high-profile public officials and causes. Kevin has worked extensively in California politics, including serving as Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon’s press secretary where he was at the center of the legislature’s biggest fights and newsworthy moments for half a decade. As a consultant, Kevin shepherded media relations and messaging for California legislation implementing long overdue online safety regulations for children and helped coordinate the media rollout of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, including managing an unprecedented international media consortium.

His political experience includes serving as communications director for Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz as she campaigned across battleground states for the Harris-Walz ticket. In 2020, Kevin worked on Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presidential primary campaign in Iowa and California and President Joe Biden’s general election campaign in Nevada. Kevin served as press secretary to U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in the first year of the Biden Administration, where his media strategies advanced the President’s climate initiatives.

Marjorie is a strategic communicator whose experience spans government, advocacy, and media. She has led high-impact communications campaigns and advised policymakers on key health and tech policy issues, distilling intricate topics into clear, persuasive messaging that resonates with diverse audiences.

Kyle Morse

Kyle is a strategic communicator who has served as a senior advisor to members of Congress, Democratic campaigns, and progressive organizations. During the 2020 election, Kyle served as the Deputy Communications Director for the Trump War Room – shaping coverage surrounding Donald Trump and leading the rapid response program.

Sacha Haworth

Sacha is a veteran of political campaigns all over the country and has worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, House Majority PAC, and on Capitol Hill. During the 2020 presidential election, Sacha ran the paid media program for American Bridge 21st Century, which used targeted television, radio, digital, and mail to persuade former Trump voters in rural areas. Sacha received her Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy in 2016.
